Chapter 3: Calm before the storm
~
"Sora, hey! Sora! Are you listening?"
I felt myself being shaked and I snapped back into reality.
Kairi and I were sitting on the beach together and it was sunset.
"Sorry, I spaced out." I said as I put a hand behind my head in embarrassment.
Kairi giggled and replied, "You've been doing that a lot lately."
"Yeah, I'm not sure why." I said.
"Sora?"
"Yeah?"
"Don't ever change."
"I'll try my best!"

Kairi and I sat in silence for a while.
"Have you seen Riku today? I haven't." I asked, breaking the silence.
"No, he's been acting weird lately." Kairi answered.
"How?"
"He disappears when you're not around. None of us know where he goes."

"Look Dark One. Sora doesn't care about you, have you seen the way he looks at that girl." The hooded figure said.
Riku and him were in the shadows as they observed Sora and Kairi who were sitting on the beach and chatting.
"You're lying." Riku replied but he was unsure.
"It's no secret that Kairi loves him and I bet he loves her too."
Riku glared holes at Kairi's back.
"The door will open and the darkness will swallow this island. When it does your friends fates are unknown. Are you willing to accept this?"
Riku looked at Sora who was looking at the sunset and saying something to Kairi.
"I am but I decide what happens to Sora."
"As you wish, Dark One."

I left Kairi alone on the beach and I was now looking for Riku.
He could be on the main land... No.
He likes it here better. Where could he be?
I sighed as I walked into the forest. It was dark here but I didn't mind, the stars were starting to come out anyway.
I wasn't sure where I was going but I kept walking.

I soon came to a cave and I grinned.
This cave was mine and Riku's special place.
I walked in and I blinked my eyes quickly a few times to adjust to the darkness.
I still smiled as I saw all the drawings carved into the cave's walls.
"This world has been connected."
"Wh-Who's there?" I asked as I turned around.
"Tied to the darkness..."
I saw someone wearing a cloak with their face covered. They sounded old and they were a lot taller than me.
"You understand nothing." The stranger continued.
I tilted my head to the side, what was this guy talking about?
He pointed to the mysterious door and I turned around and looked at it.
"Ok, why are you-" I stopped talking when I turned back around to see that he was gone.
"I think I've had too much sugar today." I muttered. "I'm having hallucinations."

Kairi and Selphie were walking together and chatting on the beach.
"Beautiful night tonight." Kairi said.
"Yes, it's very romantic... wink, wink Kairi." Selphie said with a sly smile. "Maybe you should kiss Sora." She continued.
Kairi started to blush darkly as she cried, "What?!"
Selphie giggled. "You two will make a great couple!" She said.

Normal POV
~
Sora was walking alone on the beach and he looked out to sea. He looked at the stars glittery reflections on the calm water.
"Tied to darkness... What does that mean?" Sora murmured.
He stopped walking as he spotted a shooting star.
"Where there's darkness there's always a light. A light that can never be put out." Sora murmured with a slight smile.
